FCC HOMECOMING UPDATE
The Homecoming Committee met on August 2 and updates/progress reports were presented by the various committees. Highlights follow:
Contact Committee: Over 1,000 iInformational letters will be forwarded by Shirley McCrite and her committee later in the week. The committee was commended for their work in finding addresses for so many former members and attendees. They would still welcome information on addresses for people on the listings that were distributed with the church bulletins in the last several weeks.
Program Committee: Janice Richardson and her committee are finalizing plans for the programs for Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday morning. There will be skits by "oldies" coming back and from the current congregation, lots of great music and wonderful fellowship, as well as a look back at the 40 year history of our wonderful church.
Housing Committee: For those needing accommodations, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Comfort Inn, Gore Road, Morris for Oct. 6 and 7. There are public accommodations with full service available for those traveling by RV, at the Waupecan Valley Park on West Southmor Road in Morris. Additional details will be contained in the letter planned to be mailed on or about the 4th of August. Several members or our congregation have kindly offered to house out of town guests. We would be happy to arrange that also. If there are any questions or if we can help with reservations, please let us know via e-mail at fcchomecoming@yahoo.com or contact the church office, 815-942-3454.

PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES FOR FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING (Oct 6, 7, 2006)
Friday night: Coffee House format. Skits will include any "oldies" coming back, plus some of the many talented people from our own congregation. Dee and Bud Hainzinger have volunteered to donate refreshments. Julie Smith, member of the Homecoming Committee, is tentatively planning to have coffee, chai tea and smoothies to drink, along with cookies, muffins, etc. for snacks.
Saturday morning: It is planned to leave the room as set up Friday night so that anyone may use it to gather on Saturday morning before the big day of shopping and golfing. Refreshments (coffee, left-overs from Friday night) will be available. Diane Finch will provide coupons for Buddy's Place (Deli Shop) for luncheon specials.
Please watch this space for more on the shopping trip and the golf outing.

2006 FCC HOMECOMING UPDATE:
The Planning Committee met on June 22, 2006 and heard reports from the various sub-committees on progress for the October 6-8 homecoming of all current and former members and attendees of the Morris First Christian Church. We provided names of committee members in the April 15th note and a brief outline of the proposed schedule of events for the week-end in the May 22nd web page entry. We do have an update on the planned shopping trip for Saturday, October 7, 2006. The Grundy County Chamber of Commerce's Retail Committee member, our own Karen Gronski, will be the point person to work with us on planning a special afternoon for the ladies and non-golfers. More later from other committees.
Although Shirley McCrite reports that she has received many responses to her initial notification to those people for whom she has addresses, she would like to be able to contact each and every person ever associated with our wonderful church community. We are asking your help with addresses of relatives and friends to make sure that no one is left out of this memorable event. Information can be provided to e-mail address - fcchomecoming@yahoo.com or to any one of the committee members.
