Summer 2008

This summer we are spending time with Jesus at the Sea of Galilee (in our preaching series). It's called 'At the Lake with the Lord' or some refer to it as 'At the Sea with the Savior'. We're looking at some of the events and teachings in the life of Jesus that took place on or beside the Sea of Galilee.

I think it is always refreshing to feel like you are sitting at the feet of Jesus as He is teaching or on the beach, or on the boat when He is doing something totally amazing. The fact that it is on the beach or on the water is itself refreshing. Worship is meant to be refreshing and we hope our summer services are.

Even on the beach or on the sea life still can be busy and demanding and it has been here at FCC. Averaging over 400 kids at VBS last week was amazing and exhausting, but worth it. Kids are going to Christian camp, there are large work projects we need to complete this summer on the building, and people are traveling more during these 3 months than any other time of the year. What happened to the "lazy, hazy days of summer"?

So on Sundays when we have a chance to sit back and rest, let's do it with Jesus on the beach or in a boat –here at FCC. Your spirit will be refreshed and encouraged as you worship God and listen to Jesus' teaching. You'll be better prepared for Monday after being here Sunday than anywhere else.

See you Sunday,

Chuck Richardson

Service times are 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. See you there!
